מברא

מַבָּרָאm. (= מעברא; עֲבַר) ferry, ford, crossing board. Ḥull.94a עבר במ׳ was crossing on a ferry-boat; Keth.105b עבר במ׳ on a board (cmp. גַּמְלָא). Ḥull.95a הוה יתיב במ׳וכ׳ was sitting by the ford of , v. אִישְׁתַּטִּית. Ib.b בדיק במ׳ made the readiness of a ferry-boat a foreboding test (whether it was auspicious to undertake the journey).
